2. What we make

This is a personalised decorative figurine and keepsake. It is not designed, tested or certified as a children's toy and is not intended for play by young children. Keep small or fragile items away from children under 3.

Please treat your figurine as a decorative keepsake. thin or protruding parts (antennae, tails, outstretched arms) are delicate by nature — this is a decorative object, not a plaything.

3. Definitions

  • Digital preview — the on-screen 3D rendering we generate from your uploaded drawing so you can view the character from every angle before deciding. It is an illustration, not a photograph of a finished print.
  • Print-ready final model — the refined 3D model a professional designer prepares from an approved preview so that it prints cleanly and stands up well.
  • Physical figurine — the figurine we 3D print in colour (PLA, a plant-based bioplastic) from the print-ready final model and ship to you. It is approximately 8–15 cm tall and includes a base.

4. Where we deliver

We currently sell and deliver to Netherlands only. We cannot accept orders for delivery outside Netherlands.

5. Your account and minimum age

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and place an order. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for the accuracy of the information you provide. Please only upload drawings and details that are correct and that you are entitled to share.

6. How an order works and when the contract is formed

The process is deliberately staged so you only pay once you are happy:

  1. You upload a drawing — free, no payment or card details needed.
  2. We create a free digital preview, usually within a few minutes. You may request 1 free re-generation of the preview before deciding.
  3. When you approve the preview, a professional 3D designer refines it into a print-ready final model. This designer refinement is included in the price.
  4. Only after the print-ready final model is ready and approved do you pay.

A binding purchase contract is formed at the moment your payment is confirmed — which happens after the designer has prepared the print-ready final model, not when you upload a drawing or receive a preview. We confirm your order by email once payment succeeds.

7. Prices and payment

The price for a personalised figurine is € 49,95. All prices are in euro and are inclusive of VAT (btw) and Dutch delivery. There are no hidden costs at checkout.

Payment is handled securely by our payment provider, Stripe. You can pay by iDEAL or card. We never see or store your full card details.

8. Revisions and designer refinement

Each project includes 1free re-generation of the digital preview before you pay, so you can nudge the result closer to the drawing. Once you approve a preview, a designer's refinement into a print-ready model is included at no extra cost. Beyond that, further changes are available on request — contact us and we will let you know what is possible.

9. Final approval and expected differences

Before production begins you approve the print-ready final model. Please check it carefully, as this is the model we print.

A handmade, drawn character becomes a digital preview and then a colour 3D print. Some differences between the original drawing, the on-screen preview and the finished figurine are a normal part of this process — for example colour 3D printing: colours follow the drawing, while subtle gradients and very fine detail are simplified, visible print layers, and a a lightly textured matte surface where fine print layers may be visible. dimensions and colour may vary slightly from the on-screen preview. These expected variations are not defects.

10. Changing or cancelling before production

Because you only pay once you approve a print-ready model, you can stop at any earlier stage at no cost. After payment, if production has not yet started, contact us as soon as possible at hello@sketchtotoy.com and we will do our best to pause or cancel the order and refund you. Once printing of your personalised figurine has started, the exception below applies.

11. Right of withdrawal and the customised-product exception

For most distance purchases, consumers in the Netherlands have a 14-day right of withdrawal (bedenktijd). However, our figurines are personalised and made to your specification — each one is produced from your own drawing and cannot be resold.

For that reason, once production of your personalised figurine has started, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply(this is the legal exception for goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised). We disclose this clearly here and at checkout, and you acknowledge it when you approve your print-ready model and pay.

This exception does not take away your statutory rights if the product is defective, damaged, incomplete or not as described. Those rights always apply — see the next two sections.

12. Statutory guarantee (conformity)

Under Dutch consumer law your figurine must match its description and be of the quality you may reasonably expect (conformity). If it does not, you are entitled to a free repair, replacement or, where appropriate, a refund. These statutory rights are always included and cannot be signed away.

13. Damaged, defective, incomplete or lost orders

Please inspect your parcel on arrival. If your figurine arrives damaged, defective, incomplete or not as described — or if a confirmed order does not arrive — contact us at hello@sketchtotoy.com within 14 days of delivery (or of the expected delivery date for a lost parcel), ideally with photos and your order number. We will arrange a free replacement or, where a replacement is not possible, an appropriate refund. Reporting after 14 days does not automatically end your statutory rights, but a prompt report helps us resolve things quickly.

14. Delivery, delays and transport risk

We ship with tracking via PostNL within Netherlands. Delivery timings are estimates and can be affected by production and the carrier. If delivery is significantly delayed, contact us and we will help. The risk of loss or damage in transit stays with us until the figurine reaches you, so damage or loss during shipping is covered under the section above.

15. Complaints and dispute resolution

Have a complaint? Email us with your order number and we will confirm receipt within 2 business days and aim to resolve it within 14 days. If we cannot resolve it together, EU consumers may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.

You can reach us at hello@sketchtotoy.com. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

16. Intellectual property and the content you upload

You keep ownership of your original drawing. By uploading, you confirm that you hold the necessary rights to it and that we may use it, together with any details you provide, to create your preview, prepare the print-ready model and produce and deliver your figurine. You grant us a licence for these purposes.

You must notupload drawings of protected or trademarked characters — for example Disney, Pixar, Pokémon, Marvel, Nintendo or similar — or any other content you are not entitled to reproduce. We may decline or cancel any order that appears to infringe someone else's rights.

17. Prohibited and unlawful content

You may not upload content that is unlawful, hateful, violent, sexual, defamatory, or that infringes anyone's privacy or intellectual property. We may refuse or remove such content and cancel the related order.

18. Rights in the generated 3D models

We retain ownership of the digital preview, the print-ready 3D model and any related STL or mesh files we create, along with our software, know-how and production methods. You receive the physical figurine you ordered; the underlying 3D files are not sold or licensed to you unless we agree otherwise in writing.

19. Liability

We take care to describe and produce your figurine accurately. Our liability is limited to what is reasonable and, where lawful, to the value of your order — but nothing in these Terms limits or excludes your mandatory statutory consumer rights, or our liability for death, personal injury or anything else that cannot be limited under Dutch law.

20. Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control — for example carrier disruption, supply shortages, power or network outages, strikes or extreme weather. We will let you know and, where such an event prevents us from fulfilling your order, we will refund you.

21. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any order are governed by Dutch law. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules in your country of residence. Disputes may be brought before the competent Dutch court, without prejudice to your right to use the complaints and dispute-resolution options above.

22. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time — for example to reflect changes in our process or the law. The version in force is the one published here when you place your order. We will show the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
